The 5 of us, food-lovers went out to town for dinner one night, last year (to celebrate our 2 members’ birthdays).
T & L Restaurant, a coffeeshop situated along Jalan Beserah, offers pretty good hawker-style Chinese food at night. The coffeeshop is usually packed with people, especially on weekends and during dinner time. However, no worries on getting a place, as the coffeeshop extends its ‘territory’, 2 more shops away!
Here’s a glimpse of what we had that night:
Penang-style Prawn Mee

Asam Laksa

Qu Tou Thong (Pig’s stomach soup- a peppered fragrant soup served with chunks of pig’s stomach to give a kick of taste!)

Sotong

Penang-style Loh Mee

BBQ Chicken Wings & siu-mai (far right- minced pork & water chestnut wrapped in a piece of thin flour-based sheet, & steamed to perfection. This is a type of dim sum.)

Enjoy the sight of these food, & do make a trip to Kuantan or drop by this coffeeshop for dinner if you’re around the area. Bon appetit!

Being students who live in the university hostel, our one & only faithful friend that provides our daily bread is ‘The Mighty Rice Cooker’ and the portable Hot Plate!!
The food cooked may not look extremely interesting, but it sure tastes good! Here’s a glimpse of what we had early this semesters:

From bottom left (clockwise): steam egg with diced black mushrooms, fried egg with onions, stir fried turnip with carrots, stir fried glass noodles with some gourd (jit qua), radish soup with anchovies and carrot, & stir fried pak choy with sliced carrots.
This meal served 10 people!! Not too bad for students who don’t have the liberty and freedom to own their own kitchenette, eh?
Give us some carrots, radish, pak choy, anchovies, turnip, eggs, and onions, and we wil give you a meal FIT for the queen! Hahahaha….
Cheers!
