DHL IT Services Annual Dinner & Dance 2007

The DHL Asia Pacific IT Services (Cyberjaya)ย had their Annual Dinner & Dance 2007 last Saturday at the KL Convention Centre. ย The theme for that gala night was “Glitz & Glamour” & all guest were requested to wear their best for the night ๐Ÿ™‚

The event was great ๐Ÿ™‚ The best part, I think, was the entertainment, which featured Harith Iskandar & Reshmonu! ๐Ÿ˜€ Harith Iskandar’s slot was the best ๐Ÿ˜‰ We had a roaring time of laughter & he kept the crowd entertained for about half an hour! Reshmonu’s slot was filled with groovy music & the floor was opened for dance as well…hehehe…not many people went up for the dance, but it was a great time nonetheless ๐Ÿ™‚

The event also saw 4 lucky draw sessions, which kept the crowd hopefuly for something to be brought back with them ๐Ÿ˜€ Here are some photos of the event (I’ve some more which ain’t transferred yet):

Ahaha…yes! this 42″ LCD TV is my new baby!! I won it in the Grand Lucky Prize draw at the end of the night ๐Ÿ˜† 2nd prize!! It’s a true blessing & I really thank God for such a gift! ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyone would wanna buy this baby?? *lol* This event is truly a memorable one for me ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s such a rare opportunity that I get to win something SO HUGE! Hahaha…

Kudos to the organizers of the event! All of us look forward to an evenย better & more exciting Annual Dinner & Dance 2008!!

MATTA Fair II 2007

The 2nd Matta Fair was held at the PWTC last weekend. Thousands of people, not only Malaysians, but those from all parts of the world, thronged the fair to get the best bargain for their holiday.

I managed to get into the fair right after a visit to the European Union Education Fair in the KL Convention Centre. Entrance fee for the 2nd Matta Fair 2007 was RM3 (I think it’s the same as last time) & each visitor will get a bag upon registration with some goodies in it.

mattaFair2_2007

The fair took up 3 halls & every hall has great offers for its patrons. Prices for hotel rooms in local destinations are going as low as RM300.00 for 3 nights (4 pax)! The war of prices were totally evident & it’s amazing at how such fairs attract the load of people.

mattaFair2_2007_b

To think that the economy isn’t doing very well is questionable. Haha. Below RM10,000, one can go on a holiday abroad for almost 6-8 nights, inclusive of accomodation, tour, & air ticket! *faints* Too bad I don’t have such cash to travel around the world. If & when I do, it’ll be a great adventure to embark on!

MIFC: Team Italy Competing!

*Pheeewโ€ฆ.boom!! Pheeewโ€ฆ.boom!* This went on for 30 minutes during the competition days! Cool eh? It was actually pretty interesting, considering the fact that Malaysia rarely have such events on! ๐Ÿ™‚ The sight & sound of fireworks dancing in the night sky was one to behold ๐Ÿ™‚

The 1st MIFC was held in the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). We, the Perutbesi duo managed to go there for 2 of the events *smiles proudly* Anne went for the display night on the 24th of August, while I went for the Team Italyโ€™s competition night on the 25th ๐Ÿ˜€ However, we, like the thousands of others only watched the fireworks from outside the convention centre ๐Ÿ˜›

Signboard directing towards the PICC
PICC_Signboard

The event is carried out every Friday & Saturday, from 16th August to 2nd September. On display nights, thereโ€™ll be 10 minutes of fireworks shooting into the sky, while on competition nights, the event will last for 30 minutes ๐Ÿ˜›

Fireworks display
MIFC_Italy2007

Every night when the event is on, Putrajaya will be thronged by people from all over Malaysia, & other parts of the world, mesmerized by the awesome display of fireworks! ๐Ÿ˜€ For once, to be stuck in a traffic jam is something thatโ€™s not stressful, & one that brings a smile to each personโ€™s face! Amazing, eh? Mind you, the jam to reach the bridge before the convention centre takes around 1 hour, & the jam after the event (to get out of Putrajaya) was another 1 ยฝ hours!! Toll itself, from Sunway, costs RM6.40 both ways, with an hour plus drive to arrive, with the jam!

I managed to capture some video of the event & snapped some photos too, but the photos didnโ€™t turn out as well as the video itself ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Hereโ€™s to share with our dear readers, the event that took place on Team Italyโ€™s competition night!

*sigh* Since WordPress isn’t compatible with video embedding, do check it out on this site:

Anyone Can Cook

Yeap, thats the famous tagline from the latest movie by Pixar, Ratatouille ๐Ÿ™‚ This post has nothing to do with neither cooking, nor getting everyone to become a cook. Hehe..the headline might be a bit deceiving, but it definitely has something to do with what I’m about to write here. I was given an opportunity to attend the free movie screening of Ratatouille last Thursday at Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara. Yeap, I’m able to watch Ratatouille on its opening night itself *jumping around. The free movie screening was part of Intel’s celebration of the success of Intel Core Microarchitecture and the 1st year anniversary of Intel Core 2 Duo.

The party started with guests indulging themselves in great food served by caffe 1920. Didn’t get to take any photo of food as I’m kinda ‘chicken out’ a bit with so many ‘adults’ around me and i only have my hp that nite. The photos didn’t turn out nice ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Chef

The party continued with cake cutting ceremony. Check out the BIG birthday cake. Lurv it! Simple but pretty *yum. The dinner and cake cutting ceremony ended around 7.20pm, where guests, media members and Intel staffs were directed to the cinema to catch the 7:30pm show.

Cake

I bet there is at least one person there who wonders what Ratatouille has to do with Intel, right? Well, it is because * Intel’s C2D processors helped Pixar bring Ratatouille to life, faster than ever, with 30% performance improvement in computer-generated animation and visual effects rendering software. Way to go! The rats look so real! I even had goosebumps a few times while watching the movie…eerrkk..I’m afraid of rats! ๐Ÿ˜›

(*taken from a trusted source)

Overall, all of us had fun that nite ๐Ÿ™‚ The movie was great and funny! LOVE it. Don’t mind watching it for the second time though ๐Ÿ™‚
